What Is Total30?
Total30 is Alcon’s premium monthly lens, designed for daily wear. It incorporates Water Gradient Technology, which ensures near 100% moisture on the lens surface, mimicking the eye’s natural hydration. This makes it an excellent option for those prone to dry eyes or discomfort during long hours of lens wear.
Another standout feature of Total30 is CELLIGENT Technology, which creates a protective barrier that prevents lipid and debris buildup. This feature keeps lenses feeling fresh through day 30, making them one of the most comfortable monthly lenses available.
Ideal for those who want the comfort of daily disposables but the convenience of a reusable lens, Total30 provides all-day hydration without compromising clarity or breathability.
What Is Air Optix Night & Day Aqua?
Air Optix Night & Day Aqua is one of the most breathable contact lenses on the market, designed for extended wear. Unlike Total30, these lenses are FDA-approved for up to 30 nights of continuous wear, meaning users can sleep in them without needing to remove them daily.
Made from Lotrafilcon A, a highly breathable silicone hydrogel, these lenses provide maximum oxygen flow to the eyes, helping maintain white, healthy-looking eyes even with overnight wear.
They also feature SmartShield Technology, which prevents deposits and enhances moisture retention, reducing irritation and discomfort throughout the month.
Ideal for busy individuals, shift workers, or those who frequently fall asleep in their contacts, Air Optix Night & Day Aqua offers flexibility without sacrificing eye health.
Comfort & Moisture Retention
- Total30 features Water Gradient Technology, ensuring the lens surface is almost 100% water, creating a cushion of moisture around the eye. This makes it one of the best options for people with dry or sensitive eyes.
- Air Optix Night & Day Aqua relies on SmartShield Technology, which prevents dehydration and lipid buildup but does not offer the same moisture-retaining properties as Total30. Although, it is designed to remain comfortable even after extended periods of wear, including overnight use.
Verdict: If hydration and moisture retention are your top priorities, Total30 is the better choice. If you need a lens that can withstand overnight wear, Air Optix Night & Day Aqua is the way to go.
