Product Information

Dry eyes may seem like no big deal, but they can actually be quite a problem. They itch, they hurt, and they look painfully red. Not to mention the fact that without sufficient moisture, eyes can become unhealthy. If you have dry eyes and are a contact lens wearer, you’ve probably experienced additional dry eye discomfort and complications. Luckily, there are contact lenses that provide lasting comfort even for those with dry eye issues.

Bausch and Lomb’s SofLens 59 are named so because the lenses contain an unbelievable 59 percent water. The other 41 percent is made of a polymer known as hilafilcon B, which is highly resistant to protein build-up. So, not only do these lenses contain high levels of moisture, but they’re far less likely than many other lenses to accumulate irritating protein deposits. In addition, SofLens 59 are incredibly breathable, ensuring that the cornea gets optimal levels of the oxygen it needs. Eyes remain comfortable and clear from morning until night. Those who are new to contacts and struggle with inserting and removing lenses will find that Bausch and Lomb SofLens 59 make the process easier. The company’s exclusive Unifit Technology makes lenses much simpler to put in and takeout. Of course, these lenses aren’t only for those new to contacts, as they offer a wide range of benefits for everyone.

SofLens 59 contact lenses are 1 to 2 week disposable contact lenses. This means that they can be worn daily for a maximum of 14 days. After this time they should be disposed of and replaced with a fresh out-of-the-package pair. As with many other weekly contact lenses, SofLens 59 contacts need to be removed at the end of each day and soaked in disinfecting solution overnight. In doing so, contacts are kept free of potentially harmful contaminants and eyes remain healthy and clear. With such a frequent replacement schedule, there’s less time for any build-up that does occur to cause a problem.

In short, Bausch and Lomb SofLens 59 contacts are a wonderful option for anyone who is just starting out with contact lenses or for those who want to simplify their lens routine. With all of SofLens 59’s benefits you might assume these lenses come with a steep price tag, but the truth is that they are amazingly well priced. When you shop with Lens.om you can save more money, too. With hassle-free returns, 100% money-back satisfaction, and quick shipping, you can’t go wrong with purchasing your contact lenses from Lens.com.

There are values for power, base curve, diameter, and other parameters, some of which you'll need to specify when ordering contacts. Click here, to see further info on how to read your SofLens 59 contact lens prescription.

How to tell if my SofLens 59 contacts are inside out?

You will know SofLens 59 contacts are inside-out if they feel uncomfortable in your eye. An inside-out contact lens will also move too much when you blink, and they may even pop out. Some contacts feature an inside-out mark that can be checked once removed, but this is not the case with all lenses.

Can I be allergic to SofLens 59 contacts?

Contacts, like SofLens 59 are made of hypoallergenic materials, meaning the contacts themselves don't usually cause an allergic reaction. What are SofLens 59 contacts made of?

SofLens 59 lenses are made from Silicone Hydrogel, using a specific formulation developed by Bausch & Lomb. They have a water content of 59%, and a Spherical lens design.

How old do you have to be to wear SofLens 59 contact lenses?

Like most contacts, including SofLens 59, they can be worn by teens and potentially pre-teens as well, per the direction of an ECP. In general, there is no fixed minimum age for wearing contacts, as it's a judgment call based on lifestyle habits, budget, and of course your ECP's guidance. Contacts do require care and consistency in usage and maintenance/cleaning and these are the lifestyle factors you should consider when thinking about contacts for a child.

Where can I buy SofLens 59 contacts near me?

SofLens 59 contacts are typically available to purchase at your nearest brick-and-mortar eyewear store or ECP's office. However, the lowest prices and largest inventory of these lenses can be found online, such as at Lens.com, where greater volumes and lower overhead can translate into significant savings over store-bought contacts.

What are SofLens 59 contacts?

SofLens 59 are 1-2 Week Disposable contact lenses. They are made of Silicone Hydrogel and are manufactured by Bausch & Lomb.

Can SofLens 59 contacts expire?

Like all contact lenses, SofLens 59 lenses do expire. The expiration date will be stamped on the box itself or on the aluminum fold of the blister pack in either a YYYY-MM or YYYY-MM-DD format. Typically, the expiration date for contacts is several years after the date of packaging.

What is the water content of SofLens 59?

SofLens 59 contacts have a water content of 59%. The higher the water content in a contact lens, the more oxygen reaches the cornea during lens wear. There are other factors at play however so water content alone isn't enough of a factor to judge a lens' performance for a given person. High water content lenses can feel comfortable initially but may dry out over time, but this is not always the case. So it's good to know about the water content of a lens, but it's not everything. Consult your ECP to find out the best options for you.

Can I use my eyeglass prescription for SofLens 59 contact lenses?

Unfortunately no, you can't use your eyeglass prescription for SofLens 59 lenses. Your eyeglass prescription only has the power part of the contact lens prescription. In addition to the power, the proper base curve (BC) and diameter (DIA) are needed to order contact lenses. Contact lenses come in different sizes and must be fit to your eye by an Optometrist or Ophthalmologist. As a replacement center, we can only sell you contact lenses that you are already wearing successfully. So ultimately eyeglass prescriptions are not the same as a prescription for SofLens 59 contacts. See an ECP/optometrist if you're looking for a contact lens prescription and fitting as a first-time-wearer.

How should I store my SofLens 59 contact lenses?

Daily disposable contacts cannot be stored and must be discarded at the end of each day. Even if you wear them for only a few hours one day, you still need to discard them after that use and wear a fresh pair of contacts the next day.

You may keep weekly contacts in multi-purpose contact solution in a tightly closed contact lens case for up to 2 weeks.

For monthly replacement lenses you may store them in contact solution in a tightly closed contact lens case for up to 30 days.

Is SofLens 59 discontinued?

No, SofLens 59 contacts have not been discontinued by Bausch & Lomb. They continue to be produced, marketed, and sold on Lens.com. Typically, if a contact lens ceases to be produced by the manufacturer, we will indicate it clearly on our product page as being a discontinued lens and it won't be an option to purchase them.

Do SofLens 59 lenses have UV protection?

No, SofLens 59 contacts do not have UV protection. If you are looking for contacts with this feature, check out other lenses sold on Lens.com where the feature is specifically provided on each product page.

Do I need a prescription, or a copy of my prescription in order to buy SofLens 59?

Yes, you do require a valid prescription in order to buy SofLens 59 or any contacts in the United States, per Federal Law. However, at Lens.com having a copy of your prescription in your possession is not required to place an order (though be aware it's something that is owed to you by your ECP once you complete an eye examination so that you can choose where to purchase your contacts). If you don't have a copy in your possession, Lens.com representatives will help verifying your prescription by calling your ECP for you. Provide us with the basic information, sit back, and relax.

Who makes SofLens 59 contacts?

SofLens 59 contacts are made by Bausch & Lomb, and sold on Lens.com.

Is ordering SofLens 59 contact lenses online safe?

Order and fulfillment processes adhere to mandates set by US federal law, including the requirement to verify valid prescriptions, without exception. We go above and beyond, by making the experience efficient, easy, and pleasant with 24/7/365 customer service and a money-back guarantee.

How long does it take to adjust to wearing SofLens 59 contacts?

If you're wearing SofLens 59 for the first time, it can take several days to a couple of weeks for you to adjust to wearing them on a daily basis. Contacts vary from brand to brand in terms of their shape, material, breathability, wetting agents used, and other factors, thus requiring an adjustment period. Rigid/hard lenses can sometimes take longer to adjust to, whereas most contacts in use today employ a soft form of silicone that is typically easy to adjust to.

Is SofLens 59 contact lens FDA-approved?

Yes, SofLens 59 is FDA-approved. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration regulates all contact lenses as prescription medical devices and thus must go through an approval process, after which they can be legally sold in the US (if approved). Lens.com sells only FDA-approved contact lenses. From lenses to address near, farsightedness, astigmatism, and even cosmetic lenses, our inventory consists only of FDA-approved contacts.

Can you take a nap in SofLens 59 contacts?

Yes, you can nap in SofLens 59 lenses. As SofLens 59 is approved for overnight wear (a full night's sleep), napping in them for a short period of time is not a problem. As always though, make sure you're OK to do so with your ECP even if they are technically approved as every individual's situation is different. Whether sleeping overnight or napping with contacts, this is an environment that reduces the amount of oxygen that reaches your eye, hence the precautions you need to take in terms of choosing the right lens.

Use for entire life

Maintain eye moisture very well. Lasts longer than estimated. Cheapest contacts around. Eye doctors can 'never find them' because of all of this.
