Product Information

Air Optix® plus HydraGlyde® for Astigmatism contact lenses (6 PK) offer a unique combination of technologies that support long-lasting lens surface moisture and superior comfort to provide astigmatism sufferers a comfortable lens-wearing experience.

Features & Benefits

Air Optix plus HydraGlyde for Astigmatism are monthly disposable contacts designed to address astigmatism — a common eye condition that causes blurred vision. They can be worn daily for 30 days or continuously for up to 6 nights and 7 days, after which they must be removed, disposed of, and replaced with a fresh pair of lenses.

These contacts feature two of Alcon’s proprietary technologies, SmartShield® Technology and HydraGlyde Moisture Matrix technology, to ensure long-lasting lens surface moisture. SmartShield Technology works by preventing the buildup of protein and lipid deposits on the surface of the lens. This technology also helps the lens parameters resist changes from daily use of cosmetics, hand creams, and makeup removers. HydraGlyde Moisture Matrix, on the other hand, helps keep the lens surface hydrated throughout the day.

Air Optix plus HydraGlyde for Astigmatism contact lenses also feature Alcon's proven Precision Balance 8|4® lens design, which is engineered to work with the eye’s natural blinking mechanism. This lens design also has two anchor points for stabilization and scribe marks at 3, 6, and 9 o'clock to ensure precise fit and stability throughout 30 days of wear.

Additionally, these contacts are made of lotrafilcon B — a highly breathable lens material that allows oxygen to continuously flow through the lens for white, clear, and healthy-looking eyes.

HydraGlyde is an Air Optix exclusive, that covers the surface of the lens with an advanced wetting agent to promote comfort.

Who They’re For

Air Optix plus HydraGlyde for Astigmatism contact lenses are for people who have vision problems due to astigmatism.

Historically, the irregular curvature of the eye that characterizes astigmatism made finding good-fitting contact lenses difficult. Alcon’s proven Precision Balance 8|4 lens design solves that problem. This design has scribe marks at 3, 6, and 9 o'clock that allow for flexible lens observation at multiple angles to ensure a precise fit. It also has two anchor points to keep the lens in place and prevent blurry vision.

Keep your eyes healthy and your vision clear with Air Optix plus HydraGlyde for Astigmatism.

About Astigmatism

Astigmatism is a common eye condition in which the cornea of the eye has mismatched curves. Ideally, the eye is shaped like a round ball. When light enters the eye, it bends evenly, giving you a clear view of the object you’re looking at. In people with astigmatism, light gets bent more in one direction than another due to the cornea's mismatched curves. As a result, only a part of the object is in focus. Most people who have astigmatism are born with it, but it’s unclear why this is the case. You can also get astigmatism after an eye injury, an eye disease, or an eye surgery. Because astigmatism symptoms develop slowly, it’s important to see an eye care professional if you notice changes in your vision.
