About Alcon Contacts

Alcon, a global medical company that specializes in eye care products, was founded in 1945 in Fort Worth, Texas by pharmacists Robert Alexander and William Conner. The intent of their business was to research and develop eye care products that would reduce contamination and increase user safety. In 1977, Alcon was purchased by Nestlé of Switzerland where it would grow rapidly before being sold to Novartis, which is one of the largest multi-national pharmaceutical companies in the world, in 2010. Alcon is currently headquartered in Hünenberg, Switzerland.

In addition to improving the world’s vision, Alcon is a proud supporter of medical missions worldwide. In 1962, Alcon began its patient assistance program, which provides free medication to low-income patients suffering from glaucoma—a condition that causes damage to the eye’s optic nerves and progressively worsens over time. Since then, Alcon has been taking proactive measures to bring eye care services and health care provider training to impoverished communities around the world, while also launching innovative eye care products.

As a contact lens wearer, you may already be familiar with popular Alcon contact lenses and their eye care products. In 1953, the company created and patented the DROP-TAINER®, an eye drop dispensing bottle which is now the standard for eye care products. In 2000, they introduced OPTI-FREE® EXPRESS®, the world’s first no-rub solution for contact lens disinfection. In addition to these advancements, Alcon has released solutions for pink eye and dry eye symptoms, as well as specialized treatments for glaucoma and cataract patients.

Widely recognized as a leader in contact lens technology and innovation, Alcon manufactures premium eye care products for customers around the world. Peerless in their advancement of eye care products and eye care technology, Alcon is dedicated to restoring sight and eliminating preventable blindness across the globe. Alcon produces some of the most recognizable brands of contact lenses on the market such as Air Optix, Dailies, and Freshlook contact lenses, among others. Whether you wear 1-2 week disposables, daily disposables, multifocals, toric lenses, silicone hydrogels, or color disposables, Alcon is sure to have the quality eye care products you’re looking for. Often times daily contacts are flimsy, and prone to damage. Not Focus Dailies, as these are high quality contact lenses.

Lots of daily contacts I have worn were flimsy and cheap, but not Focus Dailies Progressives. They are strong and sturdy, and are able to make it through the day.

I have been wearing contact lens for the past 33 years since 18. Due to age, my eyes seem to have protein built up more often.I can't read even with the new lens on. I felt it is impossible to have long sightedness at such short time. I change to a few other brands until I was introduced to Focus monthly lens. I find that I have no problem reading...

I like these new Focus night and day contacts, they are thin so that they are comfortable, they also curl in on themselves very easily.

The Fluorcon contact lens is of very high quality. It also stay comfortable for the entire time that I wear it for. Other RGP lenses that I had in the past would always start to irritate my eyes towards the end of the day but that not the case with these contacts. The Fluorocon is definitely the best gas permeable contact lens on the market

I have been using this brand for a long time. The most natural looking color brand contacts that I have used. I have dark brown eyes. I usually get grey contacts and you can not tell that it's not my natural eye color. FreshLook ColorBlends is the best hands down.

Being an outdoorsmen, I look for a contact that is able to survive the wear and tear of nature itself. Freshlook Colors has given me the durability that I look for in a contact, while also giving my eye color some extra pop.

I have tried several of the other shades - violet, sapphire blue, deep blue - and nothing compares to the Caribbean Aqua. My eyes are a natural blue-green color, just not this intense. When I wear these lenses people think they are my real eye color! And they are amazingly comfortable - I can wear them all day long and barely notice I have contacts...

I've tried and worn a lot of brands of opaque lenses out there, yearly, extended, and disposables. I wore Colorblends disposables for a while, but they did not sit well on my eyes, and my eyes would turn so red and irritated, I never looked good wearing them, because I looked like I was suffering with them on. I felt like I looked like some drugg...

OMG I love these so much! They are not constantly getting dry or bothering me nor do I feel them every time I blink! I honestly forgot I had contacts in every time I've worn them. I used to use Dialies and those compared to these are crap. I will always recommend Air Optix!

I got contacts for the first time back in May 2016. I had been wearing glasses for over 15 years and just afraid to try contacts. The first week at the most was tough, I could feel them and learning to get them in and out took practice however now, almost 9 months later I can wear them for 16 or more hours and I can't even feel them. They have last...

I'm new to contact lenses. My wife has been wearing these for sometime and loves them. After using the 2-week disposables for a while, I asked my optometrist about these. I tried them and love them. VERY comfortable even after being in all day. Much easier than dealing with the solution, etc. VERY pleased with these and will continue to use.

I have been using Lens.Com for years absolutely the best prices. These contacts are new to me and they have changed my life in so many ways. My lens last as long as they should and probably longer but I love my eyes and won't test it. Changing out the contacts on the 6th night instead of every day has made my life so much easier. Thank you Lens.Com...

After nearly 30 years of wearing B&L Sequence 38/Softlens 38 for distance, my vision changed so that it was struggling to read up close with contact lenses in my eyes. My Optometrist suggested I try Alcon Dailies Total 1. The Total 1's have a much deeper 'bowl' as compared to the Softlens which were more shallow. Vision up close is very good and I...
