Product Information

See clearly and comfortably at any distance with PureVision Multi-Focal contact lenses (6 pack). Like other contacts in the PureVision family of contacts, these lenses are made of unique, comfort-enhancing AerGel material. PureVision Multi-Focal contact lenses also feature a rounded edge design to ensure a comfortable fit.

Features & Benefits

PureVision Multi-Focal contacts are monthly disposable lenses designed to address presbyopia — an age-related eye condition that makes nearby objects appear blurry. These lenses are indicated for daily wear or extended wear of up to 30 days. That being said, not everyone can wear these contacts for a full 30 days. If your eye care professional (ECP) recommends a different wearing schedule, it’s best to follow their guidance.

PureVision Multi-Focal contacts feature All-Distance Optics, which allows you to see clearly near, far, and in-between. These contacts also feature comfort-enhancing AerGel material, which resists deposit buildup and stays moist all day. This unique material also allows natural levels of oxygen to reach your eyes so that they stay white and healthy.

Thanks to their unique rounded edge design, PureVision Multi-Focal contacts also fit comfortably in your eyes all day and well into the night. Plus, these contacts come with an inside-out indicator and a visibility tint for easier handling.

Who They’re For

PureVision Multi-Focal contacts are for people who have vision problems due to presbyopia, and who prefer the convenience of a monthly disposable lens. They’re also ideal for presbyopic patients who suffer from dry eyes due to lens wear.

PureVision Multi-Focal contacts are also a great choice for presbyopic patients who want to do away with bulky reading glasses or bifocals. If you have presbyopia and you want to swap your glasses for PureVision Multi-Focal contacts, consult your ECP.

About Presbyopia

Presbyopia occurs when the lens of the eye begins to harden and lose flexibility as a result of aging. Due to the eye's inability to properly focus, objects appear blurry. People most often begin to notice this shift in their vision sometime around the age of 40. From then until about the age of 65, presbyopia will gradually get worse. Those who think they are exempt due to the fact that they have always had perfect eyesight are likely still out of luck, as presbyopia eventually catches up with practically everyone. When presbyopia shows up, you may notice an inability to focus on reading material up close. Others may experience headaches or eye strain while looking at nearby objects.

How To Put In PureVision Multifocal

PureVision Multifocal contacts are soft disposable contacts and as such, you should follow the standard procedure for that type of lens. Start by washing your hands with a mild soap, then dry them with a lint-free towel. Scoop your first lens out of the case with your index finger of your dominant hand. Rinse it with a cleaning solution that’s specially formulated for soft contacts. Inspect the lens for any tears or debris, and make sure it’s not inside-out. Using the middle finger of your dominant hand, pull down your lower eyelid. If necessary, use the middle finger of your non-dominant hand to pull your upper eyelid. Stare straight ahead and gently place the lens on your eye. Blink a few times to center the lens. Repeat with the other lens. Don't panic if you see ghost images or doubling of images when you wear multifocal contacts for the first time. This is part of the adaptation process, and it should improve after a few weeks of wearing multifocal contacts.

PureVision MultiFocal FAQs

How many boxes of PureVision MultiFocal do I need to buy to last 6 months, or 12 months?

You need 1 box(es) of PureVision MultiFocal contacts to last you for 6 months. In order to last you for 12 months, you'll need 2 box(es). These amounts pertain to a single eye, so to cover both eyes, double these amounts.

How do PureVision MultiFocal contact lenses handle transitions between different distances?
PureVision MultiFocal contact lenses utilize a unique technology called All-Distance Optics that seamlessly transitions between near, intermediate, and distance vision zones. This ensures smooth and natural vision adaptation for wearers with presbyopia.

Can you take a nap in PureVision MultiFocal contacts?

Yes, you can nap in PureVision MultiFocal lenses. As PureVision MultiFocal is approved for overnight wear (a full night's sleep), napping in them for a short period of time is not a problem. As always though, make sure you're OK to do so with your ECP even if they are technically approved as every individual's situation is different. Whether sleeping overnight or napping with contacts, this is an environment that reduces the amount of oxygen that reaches your eye, hence the precautions you need to take in terms of choosing the right lens.

Where can I buy PureVision MultiFocal contacts at the best price?

PureVision MultiFocal contact lenses are available at the best price online, vs from a brick-and-motor store. When buying these contacts in-store or from a doctor's office, additional costs that come from higher overhead and lower volume of sales may play a part in having to pay more as a customer. On the other hand, online retailers benefit from lower costs and greater reach (greater sales volume, lower prices). At Lens.com PureVision MultiFocal contacts can be purchased for $42.59, after rebates. These prices are designed to be some of the lowest prices you'll find anywhere, either in-store or online.

What PureVision MultiFocal rebates are available?

PureVision MultiFocal contacts are regularly eligible for rebates exclusively on Lens.com. With Lens.com you can qualify for rebates with as few as an order of 4 and sometimes 8 boxes, unlike the 12 or more minimum purchase that's often required at other retailers. Refer to our regularly updated rebate pages or contact lens product pages to see how much the rebate amount is. Rebate offers change from time to time.

What are PureVision MultiFocal contacts made of?

PureVision MultiFocal lenses are made from Silicone Hydrogel, using a specific formulation developed by Bausch & Lomb. They have a water content of 36%, and a Multifocal lens design.

What if I don't have my prescription? Can I still order PureVision MultiFocal contacts?

Yes, you can still order PureVision MultiFocal if you don't have a hard copy of your RX/prescription on hand. As long as you have a valid contact lens prescription (which will be on file at your ECP's) you can still place an order with us at Lens.com. Choose your lens, provide us with the contact info of your ECP and we'll do the rest. If your ECP is unable to respond to our request for the info needed in a timely manner, your lenses will automatically be shipped out to you. This is the process put in place by the FTC to ensure your rights as a consumer.

How do I get my PureVision MultiFocal rebate?

To get a PureVision MultiFocal rebate, make a qualifying purchase from Lens.com. After your order ships, access the Rebate Center to print your contact lens rebate form(s). The mailing address is on the rebate form.

How long does it take to adjust to wearing PureVision MultiFocal contacts?

If you're wearing PureVision MultiFocal for the first time, it can take several days to a couple of weeks for you to adjust to wearing them on a daily basis. Contacts vary from brand to brand in terms of their shape, material, breathability, wetting agents used, and other factors, thus requiring an adjustment period. Rigid/hard lenses can sometimes take longer to adjust to, whereas most contacts in use today employ a soft form of silicone that is typically easy to adjust to.

Is PureVision MultiFocal contact lens FDA-approved?

Yes, PureVision MultiFocal is FDA-approved. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration regulates all contact lenses as prescription medical devices and thus must go through an approval process, after which they can be legally sold in the US (if approved). Lens.com sells only FDA-approved contact lenses. From lenses to address near, farsightedness, astigmatism, and even cosmetic lenses, our inventory consists only of FDA-approved contacts.

How should I store my PureVision MultiFocal contact lenses?

Daily disposable contacts cannot be stored and must be discarded at the end of each day. Even if you wear them for only a few hours one day, you still need to discard them after that use and wear a fresh pair of contacts the next day.

You may keep weekly contacts in multi-purpose contact solution in a tightly closed contact lens case for up to 2 weeks.

For monthly replacement lenses you may store them in contact solution in a tightly closed contact lens case for up to 30 days.

Is ordering PureVision MultiFocal contact lenses online safe?

Yes, all contact lenses, including PureVision MultiFocal ordered from Lens.com are FDA-approved, genuine lenses manufactured by top contact lens brands such as Bausch + Lomb and Alcon, and backed by a money-back guarantee. Order and fulfillment processes adhere to mandates set by US federal law, including the requirement to verify valid prescriptions, without exception. We go above and beyond, by making the experience efficient, easy, and pleasant with 24/7/365 customer service and a money-back guarantee.

How do I check the status of my PureVision MultiFocal rebates?

You can check the status of your PureVision MultiFocal rebate by going to the Rebate Center in your account, located in the Customer Service menu. If you need further assistance, please contact our Customer Service Department via phone (1-800 LENS.COM, 24/7) or Live Chat.

How old do you have to be to wear PureVision MultiFocal contact lenses?

Like most contacts, including PureVision MultiFocal, they can be worn by teens and potentially pre-teens as well, per the direction of an ECP. In general, there is no fixed minimum age for wearing contacts, as it's a judgment call based on lifestyle habits, budget, and of course your ECP's guidance. Contacts do require care and consistency in usage and maintenance/cleaning and these are the lifestyle factors you should consider when thinking about contacts for a child.

Are PureVision MultiFocal sold on Lens.com authentic? Why is it cheaper than other vendors?

Yes, all contacts sold on Lens.com are 100% authentic, including PureVision MultiFocal and come with a money-back guarantee. Lens.com is able to sell contacts extremely competitively by buying and selling in volume, by smartly managing costs and overhead, and by accepting smaller but fairer profit margins versus other e-tailers and ECPs in exchange for building a satisfied customer base. We stand by our product and offer 24/7 live-customer support.

Can PureVision MultiFocal contacts expire?

Like all contact lenses, PureVision MultiFocal lenses do expire. The expiration date will be stamped on the box itself or on the aluminum fold of the blister pack in either a YYYY-MM or YYYY-MM-DD format. Typically, the expiration date for contacts is several years after the date of packaging.

Are PureVision MultiFocal contacts tinted (aka 'handling tint), for improved visibility?

Yes, PureVision MultiFocal lenses include a light tint to make cleaning (when used with solution), handling, and inserting them easier.

Are online PureVision MultiFocal contact lenses the same as from your eye doctor?

Yes, generally, PureVision MultiFocal contacts purchased online are the exact same lenses you purchase in a store or a doctor's office. The guarantee that this will be the case of course varies based on where online you make your purchase. At Lens.com, all contacts are authentic, FDA-approved, and the same as you might purchase from your ECP but at a discounted price, thanks to our lower cost and better volumes.

Where can I buy PureVision MultiFocal contacts?

The lowest prices and largest selections can typically be found online where retailers can take advantage of high volume and lower costs which can benefit customers. Lens.com offers exclusive rebate/rewards savings.

Can I use my eyeglass prescription for PureVision MultiFocal contact lenses?

Unfortunately no, you can't use your eyeglass prescription for PureVision MultiFocal lenses. Your eyeglass prescription only has the power part of the contact lens prescription. In addition to the power, the proper base curve (BC) and diameter (DIA) are needed to order contact lenses. Contact lenses come in different sizes and must be fit to your eye by an Optometrist or Ophthalmologist. As a replacement center, we can only sell you contact lenses that you are already wearing successfully. So ultimately eyeglass prescriptions are not the same as a prescription for PureVision MultiFocal contacts. See an ECP/optometrist if you're looking for a contact lens prescription and fitting as a first-time-wearer.

Where can I buy PureVision MultiFocal contacts near me?

PureVision MultiFocal contacts are typically available to purchase at your nearest brick-and-mortar eyewear store or ECP's office. However, the lowest prices and largest inventory of these lenses can be found online, such as at Lens.com, where greater volumes and lower overhead can translate into significant savings over store-bought contacts.

How do I read my PureVision MultiFocal prescription?

Contact lens prescriptions, including for PureVision MultiFocal contacts, follow a standardized format and use abbreviated terms. There are values for power, base curve, diameter, and other parameters, some of which you'll need to specify when ordering contacts. Click here, to see further info on how to read your PureVision MultiFocal contact lens prescription.

Can I buy PureVision MultiFocal for someone else?

Yes, you can buy PureVision MultiFocal contacts online for someone else, for example a child or someone you're assisting with making a purchase. The same simple steps apply. At Lens.com you'll only need to know what contacts you want, their prescription, the contact info of the person's ECP (for prescription verification), and a credit card. We'll do the rest!

How to tell if my PureVision MultiFocal contacts are inside out?

You will know PureVision MultiFocal contacts are inside-out if they feel uncomfortable in your eye. An inside-out contact lens will also move too much when you blink, and they may even pop out. Some contacts feature an inside-out mark that can be checked once removed, but this is not the case with all lenses.

Can I be allergic to PureVision MultiFocal contacts?

Contacts, like PureVision MultiFocal are made of hypoallergenic materials, meaning the contacts themselves don't usually cause an allergic reaction. In most cases, what causes an allergic reaction is a buildup of contaminants on the contacts. If you experience redness, watering, and other symptoms of a possible allergic reaction, remove your contacts immediately and consult your ECP.

Does PureVision MultiFocal contacts have an inside-out mark?

PureVision MultiFocal contacts are indicated as Yes to having an inside-out mark. Generally, if there is a marking, to view it, place the lens on your fingertip. Hold it up to bright light and look at the outside surface of the lens from the side. If it does not have such a marking, there are other methods to judge if your lens is positioned inside or out. Click here to read more.

Can I renew my PureVision MultiFocal RX/prescription online?

At Lens.com. we need only your previous prescription to begin the quick process of renewing your prescription online, and it takes only 10 minutes. What is the water content of PureVision MultiFocal?

PureVision MultiFocal contacts have a water content of 36%. The higher the water content in a contact lens, the more oxygen reaches the cornea during lens wear. There are other factors at play however so water content alone isn't enough of a factor to judge a lens' performance for a given person. High water content lenses can feel comfortable initially but may dry out over time, but this is not always the case. So it's good to know about the water content of a lens, but it's not everything. Consult your ECP to find out the best options for you.

Are PureVision MultiFocal contacts, monthly?

Yes, PureVision MultiFocal contacts are monthly disposable contacts. They are meant to be worn daily for 30 days, removed, cleaned and stored at night, and disposed of after 30 days to be replaced with a fresh set.

Do I need a prescription, or a copy of my prescription in order to buy PureVision MultiFocal?

Yes, you do require a valid prescription in order to buy PureVision MultiFocal or any contacts in the United States, per Federal Law. However, at Lens.com having a copy of your prescription in your possession is not required to place an order (though be aware it's something that is owed to you by your ECP once you complete an eye examination so that you can choose where to purchase your contacts). If you don't have a copy in your possession, Lens.com representatives will help verifying your prescription by calling your ECP for you. Provide us with the basic information, sit back, and relax.

How long can you wear PureVision Multifocal?

PureVision Multifocal is a monthly disposable lens, and so they are good for 30 days of continuous wear as long as they are removed, cleaned, and stored each night. These lenses are approved for extended wear as well, but you should 1st seek guidance from your ECP to see if this is a suitable option for you.

What is the difference between PureVision Multifocal and PureVision 2 Multifocal?

These are 2 very similar lenses made from the same formulation of silicone hydrogel, but the PureVision Multifocal 2 offers a slightly thinner lens design and somewhat enhanced oxygen transmission. That said, there are many wearers who prefer the PureVision Multifocal, and deciding which is best for you is up to yourself, your ECP, and ultimately some trial and error.

What are the benefits of PureVision Multifocal?

PureVision Multifocal is equipped with a special optical design to reduce aberration, resulting in objects appearing less blurry and much sharper. They're made from their new AerGel material that allows high levels of oxygen to reach your eyes, and naturally wards off irritants that typically accumulate on contacts over time. PureVision Multifocal also features a rounded design on its edge for added comfort. They are a monthly lens with the added benefit of overnight wear as an option, based on guidance from your ECP.
