Product Information

True or false: Choosing a value-priced contact lens means sacrificing comfort, convenience, and quality. False. As made evident by its consistently favorable customer reviews, Encore Sphere, a weekly contact lens, will save you money without compromising your vision.

Encore Sphere (also known as Vertex Sphere) contact lenses are disposable soft contact lenses manufactured by CooperVision. Each lens is created using CooperVision's patented UltraSync technology, which gives the lens a smooth edge all around for superior comfort. Made from methafilcon A, a lens material that is 45% polymer and absorbs water, the lenses are soft and pliable—delivering a comfortable, customized fit that adapts to the shape of the wearer’s eyes. The remaining portion of Encore Sphere contact lenses is composed of 55 percent water, which keeps eyes sufficiently moist throughout wear, so you’ll never suffer from mid-day dry eyes.

To complement the superior comfort of these thin-edge lenses, Encore Sphere also provides superior vision quality and clarity to lens wearers with a variety of different optical conditions. A convenient tint makes it easier to locate the lenses in solution and facilitates easier general handling without changing the color of your eyes. Also, with Encore Sphere’s 1-2 week replacement schedule, debris build-up and protein deposits are eliminated, which ensures excellent hygiene and limited irritation. This schedule also adds convenience to your lifestyle, with daily washing and storing only necessary until you insert a fresh new pair after a maximum of 14 days.

Encore contact lenses are not approved for overnight wear and must be removed before sleeping. Otherwise, the likelihood of adverse reactions is increased, as shown by clinical studies. In addition, wearers must immediately remove lenses if discomfort (i.e. stinging, burning, itching) or redness of the eyes, excessive tearing, or changes in vision occur. Any of these problems may indicate an infection, ulcer, or other serious conditions.

The name might be new to you, but you can count on the same comfort, convenience, and quality from Encore Sphere contact lenses as you would expect from higher-priced lenses. You can also count on Lens.com for the best value in contact lenses. With hassle-free returns, 100% money-back satisfaction, and quick shipping, you can’t go wrong with Lens.com.

Encore Sphere (Vertex Sphere) FAQs

Is ordering Encore Sphere (Vertex Sphere) contact lenses online safe?

Yes, all contact lenses, including Encore Sphere (Vertex Sphere) ordered from Lens.com are FDA-approved, genuine lenses manufactured by top contact lens brands such as Bausch + Lomb and Alcon, and backed by a money-back guarantee. Order and fulfillment processes adhere to mandates set by US federal law, including the requirement to verify valid prescriptions, without exception. We go above and beyond, by making the experience efficient, easy, and pleasant with 24/7/365 customer service and a money-back guarantee.

How long does it take to adjust to wearing Encore Sphere (Vertex Sphere) contacts?

If you're wearing Encore Sphere (Vertex Sphere) for the first time, it can take several days to a couple of weeks for you to adjust to wearing them on a daily basis. Contacts vary from brand to brand in terms of their shape, material, breathability, wetting agents used, and other factors, thus requiring an adjustment period. Rigid/hard lenses can sometimes take longer to adjust to, whereas most contacts in use today employ a soft form of silicone that is typically easy to adjust to.

What if I don't have my prescription? Can I still order Encore Sphere (Vertex Sphere) contacts?

Yes, you can still order Encore Sphere (Vertex Sphere) if you don't have a hard copy of your RX/prescription on hand. As long as you have a valid contact lens prescription (which will be on file at your ECP's) you can still place an order with us at Lens.com. Choose your lens, provide us with the contact info of your ECP and we'll do the rest. If your ECP is unable to respond to our request for the info needed in a timely manner, your lenses will automatically be shipped out to you. This is the process put in place by the FTC to ensure your rights as a consumer.

Can I use my eyeglass prescription for Encore Sphere (Vertex Sphere) contact lenses?

Unfortunately no, you can't use your eyeglass prescription for Encore Sphere (Vertex Sphere) lenses. Your eyeglass prescription only has the power part of the contact lens prescription. In addition to the power, the proper base curve (BC) and diameter (DIA) are needed to order contact lenses. Contact lenses come in different sizes and must be fit to your eye by an Optometrist or Ophthalmologist. As a replacement center, we can only sell you contact lenses that you are already wearing successfully. So ultimately eyeglass prescriptions are not the same as a prescription for Encore Sphere (Vertex Sphere) contacts. See an ECP/optometrist if you're looking for a contact lens prescription and fitting as a first-time-wearer.

How do I check the status of my Encore Sphere (Vertex Sphere) rebates?

You can check the status of your Encore Sphere (Vertex Sphere) rebate by going to the Rebate Center in your account, located in the Customer Service menu. If you need further assistance, please contact our Customer Service Department via phone (1-800 LENS.COM, 24/7) or Live Chat.

Can Encore Sphere (Vertex Sphere) contacts expire?

Like all contact lenses, Encore Sphere (Vertex Sphere) lenses do expire. The expiration date will be stamped on the box itself or on the aluminum fold of the blister pack in either a YYYY-MM or YYYY-MM-DD format. Typically, the expiration date for contacts is several years after the date of packaging.

What is the water content of Encore Sphere (Vertex Sphere)?

Encore Sphere (Vertex Sphere) contacts have a water content of 55%. The higher the water content in a contact lens, the more oxygen reaches the cornea during lens wear. There are other factors at play however so water content alone isn't enough of a factor to judge a lens' performance for a given person. High water content lenses can feel comfortable initially but may dry out over time, but this is not always the case. So it's good to know about the water content of a lens, but it's not everything. Consult your ECP to find out the best options for you.

How should I store my Encore Sphere (Vertex Sphere) contact lenses?

Daily disposable contacts cannot be stored and must be discarded at the end of each day. Even if you wear them for only a few hours one day, you still need to discard them after that use and wear a fresh pair of contacts the next day.

For monthly replacement lenses you may store them in contact solution in a tightly closed contact lens case for up to 30 days.

No, Encore Sphere (Vertex Sphere) contacts have not been discontinued by CooperVision. They continue to be produced, marketed, and sold on Lens.com. Typically yes, Encore Sphere (Vertex Sphere) contacts offers rebate savings through Lens.com. In order to redeem rebates, the quantity you purchased should reach the specified requirement. However, at Lens.com having a copy of your prescription in your possession is not required to place an order (though be aware it's something that is owed to you by your ECP once you complete an eye examination so that you can choose where to purchase your contacts). I'm really impressed with my Encore lenses

The daily cleaning schedule helps my Encore Sphere last an entire two weeks. I was worried they'd have damage or be painful to wear after that length of time, but they worked just as nicely as when I first put them in! Great not having to change lenses every day.

All the features of these lenses are impressive

The tint on my Vertex Sphere contact lenses helps me find them much more easily in the morning. I used to have to fish around or put on my glasses and squint to find contacts, which was a hassle. With these they are easy to find and don't make my eyes look weird when wearing them.

Encore Sphere are so moist, no problems

I really like the comfort and feel of Encore Sphere. They are high moisture, which my doctor recommended to combat my eye dryness and irritation. I noticed I can wear them all day without redness or the need to take them out and give my eyes a break.

fit my eyes perfectly!

When I first put on Encore Sphere I felt like the contacts were like molding to my eyes! I was afraid this would make my eyes irritated, but instead I noticed they were super comfortable the entire day through. Also, no redness at the end of the day either!
