Product Information

Presbyopia. It may sound strange, but this condition happens to almost everyone. Typically beginning in people around 40 years of age, presbyopia occurs as the eyes age and gradually lose some of their function. This gradual loss of function is due to the loss of elasticity and thickening of the lenses. As a result, many patients with this visual impairment experience difficulty reading and focusing on objects that are up close. Other symptoms include eyestrain, fatigue, or headaches while performing these activities.

Fortunately, you can still wear contact lenses and avoid wearing reading glasses or bifocals when presbyopia begins to set in. CooperVision's Biomedics EP (also known as Proclear EP) is a contact lens designed especially for those who are starting to show signs of the condition. It corrects this problem by offering clearer vision at any distance—whether the object is near, far, or in between. They perform as a multifocal lens with two zones: a center spherical distance zone and a progressive aspheric zone.

Many individuals with mild presbyopia prefer the comfort, clarity, and convenience of Biomedics EP contacts rather than reading glasses and bifocals. A unique design featuring patented PC Technology keeps eyes moist for a full day of wear, despite harsh conditions such as traveling, spending time outdoors, and working in front of the computer. Exclusive to CooperVision, PC Technology is made from a substance found in human cell membranes that naturally attracts moisture, so it can reduce dryness in the eyes without the need for eye drops or other wetting agents (those with presbyopia may also experience increased dryness).

Your eye-care practitioner will determine whether you can wear Biomedics EP contact lenses as weekly or bi-weekly contact lenses. In any case, a 1-2 week replacement schedule is easy to remember and keeps your eyes feeling fresh with a brand new pair every 7-14 days. Biomedics contacts have a light tint (which does not alter the color of your eyes) that makes them more visible in solution and easier to handle. And unlike yearly contact lenses, if you lose or tear a lens, you’ll have a replacement on hand.

If you’ve just been prescribed Biomedics EP for presbyopia or need a new supply, look no further than Lens.com for the best value in contact lenses you’ll find anywhere, online or in stores. With hassle-free returns, 100% money-back customer satisfaction, and quick shipping, you can’t go wrong with purchasing your contact lenses from Lens.com.

Biomedics EP (Proclear EP) FAQs

Can you take a nap in Biomedics EP (Proclear EP) contacts?

No, you cannot nap in Biomedics EP (Proclear EP) lenses. As Biomedics EP (Proclear EP) are not approved for overnight wear (a full night's sleep), napping in them for a short period of time is not advisable either, and it can lead to eye-health complications. Napping for any length of time with contacts not designed for such an environment is risky. Choose a lens that is approved for overnight wear and seek guidance from your ECP if this is a requirement for you.

How many boxes of Biomedics EP (Proclear EP) do I need to buy to last 12 months?

You need 4 box(es) of Biomedics EP (Proclear EP) contacts to last you for 12 months. These amounts pertain to a single eye, so to cover both eyes, double these amounts.

Is ordering Biomedics EP (Proclear EP) contact lenses online safe?

Yes, all contact lenses, including Biomedics EP (Proclear EP) ordered from Lens.com are FDA-approved, genuine lenses manufactured by top contact lens brands such as Bausch + Lomb and Alcon, and backed by a money-back guarantee. Order and fulfillment processes adhere to mandates set by US federal law, including the requirement to verify valid prescriptions, without exception. We go above and beyond, by making the experience efficient, easy, and pleasant with 24/7/365 customer service and a money-back guarantee.

What if I don't have my prescription? Can I still order Biomedics EP (Proclear EP) contacts?

Yes, you can still order Biomedics EP (Proclear EP) if you don't have a hard copy of your RX/prescription on hand. As long as you have a valid contact lens prescription (which will be on file at your ECP's) you can still place an order with us at Lens.com. Choose your lens, provide us with the contact info of your ECP and we'll do the rest. If your ECP is unable to respond to our request for the info needed in a timely manner, your lenses will automatically be shipped out to you. This is the process put in place by the FTC to ensure your rights as a consumer.

Can I use my eyeglass prescription for Biomedics EP (Proclear EP) contact lenses?

Unfortunately no, you can't use your eyeglass prescription for Biomedics EP (Proclear EP) lenses. Your eyeglass prescription only has the power part of the contact lens prescription. In addition to the power, the proper base curve (BC) and diameter (DIA) are needed to order contact lenses. Contact lenses come in different sizes and must be fit to your eye by an Optometrist or Ophthalmologist. As a replacement center, we can only sell you contact lenses that you are already wearing successfully. So ultimately eyeglass prescriptions are not the same as a prescription for Biomedics EP (Proclear EP) contacts. See an ECP/optometrist if you're looking for a contact lens prescription and fitting as a first-time-wearer.

Are Biomedics EP (Proclear EP) sold on Lens.com authentic? Why is it cheaper than other vendors?

Yes, all contacts sold on Lens.com are 100% authentic, including Biomedics EP (Proclear EP) and come with a money-back guarantee. Lens.com is able to sell contacts extremely competitively by buying and selling in volume, by smartly managing costs and overhead, and by accepting smaller but fairer profit margins versus other e-tailers and ECPs in exchange for building a satisfied customer base. However, the lowest prices and largest inventory of these lenses can be found online, such as at Lens.com, where greater volumes and lower overhead can translate into significant savings over store-bought contacts.

Can Biomedics EP (Proclear EP) contacts expire?

Like all contact lenses, Biomedics EP (Proclear EP) lenses do expire. The expiration date will be stamped on the box itself or on the aluminum fold of the blister pack in either a YYYY-MM or YYYY-MM-DD format. Typically, the expiration date for contacts is several years after the date of packaging.

What is the water content of Biomedics EP (Proclear EP)?

Biomedics EP (Proclear EP) contacts have a water content of 60%. The higher the water content in a contact lens, the more oxygen reaches the cornea during lens wear. There are other factors at play however so water content alone isn't enough of a factor to judge a lens' performance for a given person. High water content lenses can feel comfortable initially but may dry out over time, but this is not always the case. So it's good to know about the water content of a lens, but it's not everything. Consult your ECP to find out the best options for you.

However, at Lens.com having a copy of your prescription in your possession is not required to place an order (though be aware it's something that is owed to you by your ECP once you complete an eye examination so that you can choose where to purchase your contacts). If you don't have a copy in your possession, Lens.com representatives will help verifying your prescription by calling your ECP for you. Provide us with the basic information, sit back, and relax.

Very Satisfied

I play piano in Church, and I have to say that these lenses have made it easier to read music while playing. It felt like a miracle when I could read my music without reading glasses. (and also the little date box on my wrist watch)

These are great!

I just started wearing these a week ago. The minute I put them on, I felt the difference in comfort. Wow! They are great. The best feature is that I no longer need to have reading glasses nearby when I sit down to read or am in a store and have to read the small print. I can see the text perfectly. I'm delighted with these.

I no longer need my glasses thanks to Biomedics EP

I never knew that they had contact lenses like the Biomedics EP! I just figured that when my eyesight started going bad that I would have to get reading glasses like all of my friends. It is amazing how smart these lenses are. My vision is perfect at all distances and I am never even aware that I am wearing contact lenses. I love the fact that I don't need wear readers when out with friends- I definatly look the youngest from the group.
