Product Information

Presbyopia. It may sound strange, but this condition happens to almost everyone. Typically beginning in people around 40 years of age, presbyopia occurs as the eyes age and gradually lose some of their function. This gradual loss of function is due to the loss of elasticity and thickening of the lenses. As a result, many patients with this visual impairment experience difficulty reading and focusing on objects that are up close. Other symptoms include eyestrain, fatigue, or headaches while performing these activities.

Fortunately, you can still wear contact lenses and avoid wearing reading glasses or bifocals when presbyopia begins to set in. CooperVision's Biomedics EP (also known as Proclear EP) is a contact lens designed especially for those who are starting to show signs of the condition. It corrects this problem by offering clearer vision at any distance—whether the object is near, far, or in between. They perform as a multifocal lens with two zones: a center spherical distance zone and a progressive aspheric zone.

Many individuals with mild presbyopia prefer the comfort, clarity, and convenience of Biomedics EP contacts rather than reading glasses and bifocals. A unique design featuring patented PC Technology keeps eyes moist for a full day of wear, despite harsh conditions such as traveling, spending time outdoors, and working in front of the computer. Exclusive to CooperVision, PC Technology is made from a substance found in human cell membranes that naturally attracts moisture, so it can reduce dryness in the eyes without the need for eye drops or other wetting agents (those with presbyopia may also experience increased dryness).

Your eye-care practitioner will determine whether you can wear Biomedics EP contact lenses as weekly or bi-weekly contact lenses. In any case, a 1-2 week replacement schedule is easy to remember and keeps your eyes feeling fresh with a brand new pair every 7-14 days. Biomedics contacts have a light tint (which does not alter the color of your eyes) that makes them more visible in solution and easier to handle. And unlike yearly contact lenses, if you lose or tear a lens, you’ll have a replacement on hand.

If you’ve just been prescribed Biomedics EP for presbyopia or need a new supply, look no further than Lens.com for the best value in contact lenses you’ll find anywhere, online or in stores. With hassle-free returns, 100% money-back customer satisfaction, and quick shipping, you can’t go wrong with purchasing your contact lenses from Lens.com.

What Biomedics EP (Proclear EP) rebates are available?

Biomedics EP (Proclear EP) contacts are regularly eligible for rebates exclusively on Lens.com. With Lens.com you can qualify for rebates with as few as an order of 4 and sometimes 8 boxes, unlike the 12 or more minimum purchase that's often required at other retailers. Refer to our regularly updated rebate pages or contact lens product pages to see how much the rebate amount is. Rebate offers change from time to time.

Can you take a nap in Biomedics EP (Proclear EP) contacts?

No, you cannot nap in Biomedics EP (Proclear EP) lenses. As Biomedics EP (Proclear EP) are not approved for overnight wear (a full night's sleep), napping in them for a short period of time is not advisable either, and it can lead to eye-health complications. Napping for any length of time with contacts not designed for such an environment is risky. Choose a lens that is approved for overnight wear and seek guidance from your ECP if this is a requirement for you.

Can I use my eyeglass prescription for Biomedics EP (Proclear EP) contact lenses?

Unfortunately no, you can't use your eyeglass prescription for Biomedics EP (Proclear EP) lenses. Your eyeglass prescription only has the power part of the contact lens prescription. In addition to the power, the proper base curve (BC) and diameter (DIA) are needed to order contact lenses. Contact lenses come in different sizes and must be fit to your eye by an Optometrist or Ophthalmologist. As a replacement center, we can only sell you contact lenses that you are already wearing successfully. So ultimately eyeglass prescriptions are not the same as a prescription for Biomedics EP (Proclear EP) contacts. See an ECP/optometrist if you're looking for a contact lens prescription and fitting as a first-time-wearer.

What is the water content of Biomedics EP (Proclear EP)?

Biomedics EP (Proclear EP) contacts have a water content of 60%. The higher the water content in a contact lens, the more oxygen reaches the cornea during lens wear. There are other factors at play however so water content alone isn't enough of a factor to judge a lens' performance for a given person. Very Satisfied

I play piano in Church, and I have to say that these lenses have made it easier to read music while playing. It felt like a miracle when I could read my music without reading glasses. (and also the little date box on my wrist watch)

These are great!

I just started wearing these a week ago. The minute I put them on, I felt the difference in comfort. Wow! They are great. The best feature is that I no longer need to have reading glasses nearby when I sit down to read or am in a store and have to read the small print. I can see the text perfectly. I'm delighted with these.

I no longer need my glasses thanks to Biomedics EP

I never knew that they had contact lenses like the Biomedics EP! I just figured that when my eyesight started going bad that I would have to get reading glasses like all of my friends. It is amazing how smart these lenses are. My vision is perfect at all distances and I am never even aware that I am wearing contact lenses. I love the fact that I don't need wear readers when out with friends- I definatly look the youngest from the group.
