Product Information

Bausch & Lomb’s Boston Equalens II contacts are highly breathable rigid gas-permeable (RGP) lenses indicated for daily or extended wear. They can be made in a wide range of parameters.

Features & Benefits

Boston Equalens II contacts are RGP lenses that can be worn daily for up to a year before they need to be replaced. Boston Equalens II contacts can also be worn for up to seven days straight before they need to be removed, cleaned, and disinfected.

Contrary to popular belief, RGP lenses like Boston Equalens II contacts are actually comfortable because of their high oxygen permeability. This means they allow plenty of nourishing oxygen to pass through — oxygen our eyes need to stay moist and healthy.

With almost zero water content, Boston Equalens II contacts are also naturally resistant to surface deposit buildup that can otherwise cause discomfort. And because Boston Equalens II contacts can be made in a wide range of parameters, they can correct virtually any refractive error, including high levels of astigmatism and presbyopia.

Who They’re For

Boston Equalens II contacts are solid candidates for people with high levels of astigmatism or presbyopia for whom soft lenses don’t produce the desired visual acuity. Boston Equalens II contacts are also suitable for those with irregular corneal conditions.

How to Put In Boston Equalens II

Boston Equalens II contacts are RGP lenses and as such, you should follow the standard procedure for this type of lens. Wash and dry your hands before touching the contacts or your eyes. Scoop your first lens out of the case with the index finger of your dominant hand and rinse it with a multipurpose cleaning solution designed for RGP lenses. Hold your eyelid open, stare straight ahead, and gently place the lens on your eye. Repeat for the other lens.

Boston Equalens II FAQs

Who makes Boston Equalens II contacts?

Boston Equalens II contacts are made by Polymer Technology, and sold on Lens.com.

How should I store my Boston Equalens II contact lenses?

Daily disposable contacts cannot be stored and must be discarded at the end of each day. Even if you wear them for only a few hours one day, you still need to discard them after that use and wear a fresh pair of contacts the next day.

You may keep weekly contacts in multi-purpose contact solution in a tightly closed contact lens case for up to 2 weeks.

For monthly replacement lenses you may store them in contact solution in a tightly closed contact lens case for up to 30 days.

Are online Boston Equalens II contact lenses the same as from your eye doctor?

Yes, generally, Boston Equalens II contacts purchased online are the exact same lenses you purchase in a store or a doctor's office. The guarantee that this will be the case of course varies based on where online you make your purchase. At Lens.com, all contacts are authentic, FDA-approved, and the same as you might purchase from your ECP but at a discounted price, thanks to our lower cost and better volumes.

Can I buy Boston Equalens II for someone else?

Yes, you can buy Boston Equalens II contacts online for someone else, for example a child or someone you're assisting with making a purchase. The same simple steps apply. At Lens.com you'll only need to know what contacts you want, their prescription, the contact info of the person's ECP (for prescription verification), and a credit card. We'll do the rest!

Do I need a prescription, or a copy of my prescription in order to buy Boston Equalens II?

Yes, you do require a valid prescription in order to buy Boston Equalens II or any contacts in the United States, per Federal Law. However, at Lens.com having a copy of your prescription in your possession is not required to place an order (though be aware it's something that is owed to you by your ECP once you complete an eye examination so that you can choose where to purchase your contacts). If you don't have a copy in your possession, Lens.com representatives will help verifying your prescription by calling your ECP for you. Provide us with the basic information, sit back, and relax.

Where can I buy Boston Equalens II contacts?

Boston Equalens II lenses are available to purchase at online retailers, some brick-and-mortar stores, and eye care professionals near you. Click here, to see further info on how to read your Boston Equalens II contact lens prescription.

How to tell if my Boston Equalens II contacts are inside out?

You will know Boston Equalens II contacts are inside-out if they feel uncomfortable in your eye. An inside-out contact lens will also move too much when you blink, and they may even pop out. Some contacts feature an inside-out mark that can be checked once removed, but this is not the case with all lenses.

Can I be allergic to Boston Equalens II contacts?

Contacts, like Boston Equalens II are made of hypoallergenic materials, meaning the contacts themselves don't usually cause an allergic reaction. Is Boston Equalens II discontinued?

No, Boston Equalens II contacts have not been discontinued by Polymer Technology. They continue to be produced, marketed, and sold on Lens.com. Can Boston Equalens II contacts expire?

Boston Equalens II is a high quality contact lens

I switched to the Boston Equalens II a couple of years ago from disposable lenses and the quality isn't even comparable. I was really missing out by wearing disposable lenses for so long. I get such better comfort with the Boston Equalens II than with any other disposable contact lens. The sight is superior as well because the lens is custom made, this is a high quality contact lens!

Boston Equalens II are very easy to care for.

I switched to Rigid Gas Permeable about 7 years ago and this brand was the best that I found. Over the year my vision progressively got worse and worse and finally soft contact lenses were no longer an option. My eye doc at first prescribed a different brand of rgps but I my eyes never got used to them and the contacts pop out very often. I went through several trial brands and finally got to Boston Equalens II. I could not believe how comfortable they were and how perfectly they fit my eye. These lenses give me perfect clear vision and great comfort throughout the day.
