Multifocal Toric Contact Lenses
Multifocal toric contact lenses are soft contact lenses made for wearers who need correction for both astigmatism and presbyopia. This category combines toric lens design for astigmatism with multifocal lens design for near, intermediate, and distance vision. Available options are usually reusable monthly lenses, depending on the exact product and prescription your eye doctor prescribed. Multifocal toric lenses are not interchangeable with standard toric lenses, standard multifocal lenses, reading glasses, progressive glasses, or monovision contacts unless your eye doctor approves the change.
Choose the exact lens name, sphere power, cylinder, axis, add power, base curve, diameter, and replacement schedule written on your current contact lens prescription.

How Multifocal Toric Contact Lenses Help With Astigmatism and Presbyopia
Multifocal toric contact lenses combine astigmatism correction, presbyopia support, and brand-specific lens stability in one prescribed monthly lens design.
1. Toric Correction
Toric design helps correct astigmatism by matching the cylinder and axis values on your prescription. The lens also needs to stay properly oriented on your eye so the astigmatism correction works as intended.
2. Multifocal Vision Design
Multifocal design helps with presbyopia by adding near-vision correction along with distance correction. Biofinity Toric Multifocal and Proclear Multifocal Toric use Balanced Progressive Technology, while ULTRA Multifocal for Astigmatism uses 3-Zone Progressive Design.
3. Monthly Reusable Wear
Common multifocal toric options are monthly reusable lenses. They need clean handling, approved contact lens solution, fresh storage solution, and replacement on schedule.
Why Wearers Choose Multifocal Toric Contact Lenses
- Corrects astigmatism and presbyopia in the same prescribed lens design.
- Helps with near, intermediate, and distance vision when fitted correctly.
- Includes monthly options such as Biofinity Toric Multifocal, Proclear Multifocal Toric, and ULTRA Multifocal for Astigmatism.
- Biofinity Toric Multifocal uses Optimized Toric Lens Geometry, Balanced Progressive Technology, and Aquaform Technology.
- Proclear Multifocal Toric uses PC Technology and Balanced Progressive Technology.
- ULTRA Multifocal for Astigmatism uses OpticAlign Design, 3-Zone Progressive Design, and MoistureSeal Technology.
- Can reduce the need to rely only on reading glasses over contact lenses.
- Requires more prescription details than standard spherical, toric, or multifocal lenses.
What to Check Before Ordering Multifocal Toric Contact Lenses
Exact Product Name
Match the full product name on your prescription before ordering. Biofinity Toric Multifocal, Proclear Multifocal Toric, and Bausch + Lomb ULTRA Multifocal for Astigmatism are different lenses, so do not switch between them unless your eye doctor approves the change.
Replacement Schedule
Check whether your prescription names a monthly replacement lens. Multifocal toric contacts are commonly reusable monthly lenses, which means they need cleaning, disinfection, storage in fresh solution, and replacement on schedule.
Prescription Type
Review every value on your prescription, including sphere power, cylinder, axis, add power, base curve, diameter, and the exact lens name. These lenses correct both astigmatism and presbyopia, so missing or incorrect values can affect near, intermediate, distance, or astigmatism correction.
Care Routine
Follow the care routine approved for your specific multifocal toric lenses. Wash and dry your hands before handling them, use fresh contact lens solution each time, keep the case clean, and avoid wearing lenses that feel damaged, dry, or uncomfortable.
Can You Get Multifocal Contacts for Astigmatism?
Yes, you can get multifocal contacts for astigmatism if your eye doctor prescribes a multifocal toric contact lens. Biofinity Toric Multifocal and Proclear Multifocal Toric are monthly options for wearers who need correction for both astigmatism and presbyopia. ULTRA Multifocal for Astigmatism is another monthly lens that combines astigmatism correction with multifocal vision support. Before ordering, match the exact lens name, sphere power, cylinder, axis, add power, base curve, and diameter on your prescription.
Toric vs. Multifocal Contact Lenses
Toric and multifocal contact lenses correct different vision needs. A toric lens is made for astigmatism, while a multifocal lens is made for presbyopia.
Toric Contact Lenses
Toric contact lenses correct astigmatism. They include cylinder and axis values and must stay in the right position on your eye to keep vision stable. These lenses may be prescribed if your vision looks blurry, stretched, shadowed, or unstable because of astigmatism. Standard spherical contacts do not correct astigmatism the same way.
Multifocal Contact Lenses
Multifocal contact lenses correct presbyopia. They help with near, intermediate, and distance vision using add power or multiple viewing zones in the lens. These lenses may be prescribed if reading, phone use, menus, labels, or computer work has become harder while your distance vision still needs correction. Standard single-vision contacts do not give the same near-vision support.
Multifocal Toric Contact Lenses
Multifocal toric contact lenses correct astigmatism and presbyopia in the same lens. They need more prescription details than standard toric or standard multifocal lenses because they must support lens stability and multiple viewing distances. Match the exact product name, sphere, cylinder, axis, add power, base curve, diameter, and replacement schedule before ordering.
How Do Multifocal Toric Lenses Work?
Multifocal toric lenses work by combining astigmatism correction and presbyopia correction in one contact lens. The toric part of the lens uses cylinder and axis correction and must stay properly oriented on your eye, while the multifocal part uses add power or viewing zones to support near, intermediate, and distance vision. Brand designs can work differently: Biofinity Toric Multifocal uses Optimized Toric Lens Geometry and Balanced Progressive Technology, while ULTRA Multifocal for Astigmatism uses OpticAlign Design and 3-Zone Progressive Design. If the lens rotates, fits poorly, dries out, or has the wrong add power, your vision may feel blurry at one or more distances, so your eye doctor may need to fine-tune the fit before you reorder.
Are Multifocal Toric Contacts Comfortable?
Multifocal toric contacts can be comfortable when the lens material, fit, rotation, tear film, and care routine work well for your eyes. Comfort can vary because these lenses must stay stable for astigmatism correction while also supporting near, intermediate, and distance vision.
Good match if:
- You have a current prescription for a specific multifocal toric lens.
- Your lenses stay stable after blinking and do not rotate too much.
- Your near, intermediate, and distance vision feel balanced during normal tasks.
- Your eyes stay comfortable through your approved wearing time.
- You can follow a monthly cleaning, storage, and replacement routine.
Recheck before ordering if:
- Your lenses feel dry, tight, gritty, or uncomfortable before the end of the day.
- Your vision shifts after blinking or feels blurry at one distance.
- You notice halos, glare, or trouble with night driving.
- Your lenses collect deposits or feel less comfortable later in the month.
- You want to switch between Biofinity Toric Multifocal, Proclear Multifocal Toric, and ULTRA Multifocal for Astigmatism without a new fitting.
Who Needs Multifocal Toric Contact Lenses?
Good match if:
- You have astigmatism and presbyopia.
- Your prescription includes cylinder, axis, and add power.
- You want contact lenses that can help with reading, computer work, and distance vision.
- Your eye doctor has fitted you for a specific multifocal toric lens.
Recheck before ordering if:
- You only have a prescription for glasses.
- You only have a standard toric contact lens prescription.
- You only have a standard multifocal contact lens prescription.
- You are unsure whether your prescription includes add power, cylinder, and axis.
Daily vs. Monthly Multifocal Toric Contact Lenses
Multifocal toric contact lenses are most commonly available as reusable monthly lenses. Biofinity Toric Multifocal, Proclear Multifocal Toric, and Bausch + Lomb ULTRA Multifocal for Astigmatism are monthly options for wearers who need both astigmatism and presbyopia correction. CooperVision lists Biofinity Toric Multifocal with Optimized Toric Lens Geometry, Balanced Progressive Technology, and Aquaform Technology, while Bausch + Lomb lists ULTRA Multifocal for Astigmatism with OpticAlign Design and 3-Zone Progressive Design.
Daily disposable multifocal toric lenses are more limited, so do not assume a daily version is available for your prescription. If you prefer a fresh pair each day, ask your eye doctor whether your astigmatism and presbyopia values can be fitted in a daily lens or whether a monthly multifocal toric lens is the better match.
Monthly multifocal toric lenses need cleaning, disinfection, fresh solution, safe storage, and replacement on the schedule your eye doctor prescribed. Your order should match the exact lens name, sphere, cylinder, axis, add power, base curve, diameter, and replacement schedule.
Multifocal Toric Contact Lenses for Near and Distance Vision
1. Near Vision
Near correction helps with reading, phone use, labels, and other close-up tasks. Your added power affects how much near support the lens provides.
2. Intermediate Vision
Intermediate vision matters for computer screens, dashboards, and conversations across a desk. Some multifocal designs place attention on this middle range.
3. Distance Vision
Distance clarity still matters for driving, walking, and seeing across a room. Your eye doctor may adjust the power balance if near vision improves but distance feels weak.
Multifocal Toric Contact Lenses for Dry Eyes
- Proclear Multifocal Toric is designed for multifocal wearers with astigmatism who experience dryness related to lens wear.
- Biofinity Toric Multifocal uses Aquaform Technology to help the lens retain water in the material.
- ULTRA Multifocal for Astigmatism uses MoistureSeal Technology.
- If dryness appears near the end of the day, ask your eye doctor about wear time, lens-compatible drops, solution choice, or a different lens design.
How to Read a Multifocal Toric Contact Lens Prescription
Step 1. Check the lens name.
Match the full product name exactly. Biofinity Toric Multifocal, Proclear Multifocal Toric, and ULTRA Multifocal for Astigmatism are not the same lens.
Step 2. Match the sphere power.
Sphere power corrects nearsightedness or farsightedness. Your right eye and left eye may have different values.
Step 3. Review cylinder and axis.
Cylinder measures the amount of astigmatism correction. Axis shows the direction of that correction.
Step 4. Confirm the added power.
Add power helps with near vision for presbyopia. Different brands may handle add power and multifocal design differently.
Step 5. Check fit details.
Base curve, diameter, replacement schedule, and lens design matter. A lens with similar numbers can still fit differently if the brand changes.

I am very happy with Lens.com and my Proclear lenses. Ordering was quick and easy. I just took a photo of my prescription and they took care of the rest. Shipping was fast and the price was good.
Shipping and rebate expediency and accuracy.
I have been doing business with lens.com for many years now, and have found them to be an excellent provider of contact lenses. I would highly recommend them to anyone, wishing to save money on their contract purchase.
Dailies are the WAY TO GO!
I like that these are use and throw - less chance of infections or disease transmission. I never buy saline solution anymore, where I use to spend quite a bit on that in year when using the monthly contact. They are worth the extra cost IMO.
