Great Contact Lenses
Great contact lenses should give you clear, stable sight, feel comfortable throughout your wearing schedule, and match the exact lens your eye doctor fitted for your eyes. The best options balance breathable materials, moisture-focused designs, easy replacement schedules, and prescription-specific versions for needs like astigmatism, presbyopia, dry eyes, or color enhancement. Before you compare brands or prices, start with your prescription to choose contacts that fit your vision, comfort needs, and daily routine.

Features To Compare In Great Contact Lenses
The best contact lenses should match your prescription, fit your eyes properly, and feel comfortable during your real wearing routine. Before comparing brands or prices, look at how the lens is designed, how often it needs to be replaced, and whether it fits your specific vision needs.
1. Match The Exact Product Name
Start with the complete lens name listed on your prescription. Contacts that share the same brand family can still differ in fit, moisture retention, oxygen flow, replacement schedule, and overall design.
A toric, multifocal, colored, or standard version of the same brand can perform very differently on your eyes. That's why the exact product name should match before you compare prices or place an order.
2. Choose The Right Wearing Schedule
Daily disposable lenses give you a fresh pair every day and remove the need for cleaning solution or storage cases. They can work well for busy schedules, travel, occasional wear, or people who prefer a low-maintenance routine.
As for bi-weekly and monthly lenses, they are reused on a set schedule. They may be a good fit for regular wearers who are comfortable cleaning and storing contacts after each use.
Your ideal schedule depends on comfort, budget, wearing habits, and how much lens care you want to manage.
3. Compare Comfort Features
Comfort can change from one lens to another, even when the prescription power is the same. Lens material, moisture design, oxygen flow, edge shape, and surface smoothness can all affect how the lens feels on your eye.
Some contacts are designed for long wear days, dry-feeling eyes, or screen-heavy routines. Others focus on a lightweight feel or a fresh-lens experience.
If your eyes feel dry, tired, gritty, or irritated, don't choose a new lens by guesswork. Your eye doctor can check whether the issue comes from fit, tear quality, allergies, wearing time, or lens care habits.
A more comfortable lens isn't always the most expensive one. It is the one that fits your eyes and your routine properly.
4. Check Prescription-Specific Options
Some prescriptions need a more specific lens design. Toric lenses correct astigmatism and include cylinder and axis measurements, while multifocal lenses help with presbyopia by supporting near, middle, and distance vision.
Colored contacts can enhance or change eye color, but they still need a valid prescription and proper fitting. Even plano colored contacts sit directly on the eye, so fit, diameter, base curve, and lens movement still count.
5. Review Box Size And Real Cost
Box size can change the real value of your order. A 30-pack daily lens, 90-pack daily lens, and 6-pack monthly lens don't last the same amount of time.
Look at how long each box lasts for each eye before comparing prices. A lower box price can look better at first, but supply length, rebates, shipping, and replacement schedule can change the final cost.
The clearest comparison is the total cost for the amount of time the lenses will actually last.
6. Shop The Prescribed Lens At Lens.com
Lens.com lets you compare contact lenses by brand, product type, replacement schedule, box quantity, price, and available savings. Once you find the exact lens your eye doctor prescribed, review the product details, supply length, and checkout total before ordering.
During checkout, use your current prescription information so the order can be verified before shipment.
Features That Make Contact Lenses Easier to Wear
Comfort starts with fit, but lens material, surface design, oxygen flow, and moisture retention can also affect how contacts feel through the day. Some lenses focus on a fresh-pair routine, while others focus on longer wear, screen-heavy days, dry indoor air, or more specific vision needs.
If your lenses feel gritty, tight, dry, or tiring after a few hours, don't choose a new lens by guesswork. Ask your eye doctor whether the issue comes from lens fit, material, tear film, allergies, wearing time, or your cleaning routine. A better lens match can make daily wear feel much easier.
Popular contact lens features to compare include:
- DAILIES TOTAL1 uses Water Gradient Technology, which helps create a high-moisture surface for a soft, comfortable daily disposable lens feel.
- ACUVUE OASYS MAX 1-Day includes TearStable Technology and an OptiBlue Light Filter, which can be worth comparing if you want a daily lens designed for comfort and blue-violet light filtering.
- ACUVUE OASYS uses HYDRACLEAR PLUS Technology and includes UV-blocking features, making it a popular reusable lens family for people who want comfort and sun-related lens features in one product.
- Bausch + Lomb INFUSE uses ProBalance Technology and silicone hydrogel material, with features focused on hydration, breathability, and daily disposable convenience.
- Bausch + Lomb ULTRA uses MoistureSeal Technology, which helps the lens retain moisture during long wearing days. This can make it worth discussing if your contacts start to feel dry during work, school, or screen-heavy routines.
- Biofinity uses Aquaform Technology, which helps the lens retain water while allowing oxygen to pass through the lens material. Biofinity Energys also includes DigitalBoost Technology, which is designed for people who spend a lot of time on digital devices.
- MyDay daily disposable lenses use Aquaform Technology in a fresh-daily format, which can appeal to wearers who want comfort, breathability, and a low-maintenance routine.
- Toric contact lenses include stabilization features that help the lens stay in the correct position for astigmatism correction.
- Multifocal contact lenses use designs that help support near, middle, and distance vision for people with presbyopia.
UV-blocking contacts can add another layer of sun-related protection, but they don't replace sunglasses because contact lenses don't cover the entire eye or surrounding skin. Blue-violet filtering contacts can reduce some blue-violet light, but screen comfort also depends on blinking, dryness, glare, lighting, and lens fit.
Types of Contacts for Different Needs
Different contact lens types serve different routines, prescriptions, and comfort needs. Some lenses are built for a fresh-pair schedule, while others are made for regular reuse, astigmatism, or presbyopia. The right choice should come from your eye doctor's fitting, your prescription details, and how you plan to wear your contacts day to day.
Daily Contacts For A Fresh-Pair Routine
Daily disposable contacts are worn once and thrown away after use. They can be a good fit for people who want a clean, low-maintenance routine without lens cases or overnight solution. They also work well for travel, sports, part-time wear, and busy schedules. Since you start with a fresh pair each day, daily contacts can feel easier for people who don't want to manage cleaning and storage.
Popular daily lens families include ACUVUE OASYS 1-Day, DAILIES TOTAL1, PRECISION1, MyDay, Biotrue ONEday, and 1-Day ACUVUE Moist. Some daily contacts also come in toric or multifocal versions, so check the exact product name and prescription values before ordering.
Monthly Contacts For Regular Wearers
Monthly contacts are reusable lenses replaced on the schedule your eye doctor prescribes. They can be a practical choice for full-time wearers who are comfortable with cleaning, storage, and lens case care.
The lens cost can be lower than daily disposables, but solution and case replacement should be part of the total cost. Monthly contacts also require stronger care habits because the same lenses are worn again over several weeks.
Popular monthly lens families include Biofinity, Bausch + Lomb ULTRA, AIR OPTIX plus HydraGlyde, and TOTAL30. Monthly contacts can also come in toric or multifocal versions, so don't swap a standard monthly lens for a specialty version unless your doctor approves it.
Toric Contacts For Astigmatism
Toric contacts are made for astigmatism. They include cylinder and axis values and use a design that helps the lens stay stable on the eye. That stability matters because astigmatism correction needs to sit in the right position. If the lens rotates too much, vision can blur or shift throughout the day.
If your prescription lists a toric lens, order the exact toric product. A standard lens from the same brand family isn't the same. Check the power, cylinder, axis, base curve, diameter, and full product name for each eye before checkout.
Multifocal Contacts For Presbyopia
Multifocal contacts are made for presbyopia, the age-related change that makes near vision harder. These lenses help with more than one viewing distance, such as reading, computer work, and distance vision.
When comparing multifocal contacts, check the full product name, power, ADD value, base curve, and diameter. Multifocal lenses can feel different from one brand family to another, so your eye doctor's fitting should guide the final choice.
What Are the Best Contacts for Dry Eyes or Screen-Heavy Days?
Dryness can come from lens fit, material, tear film, screen use, allergies, air conditioning, or long wearing time. Screen use can also make contacts feel drier because blinking slows down when you look at phones, laptops, tablets, or gaming screens.
If your contacts feel dry, gritty, or tiring during the day, ask your eye doctor whether these products could fit your prescription, eye health, and wearing routine.
DAILIES TOTAL1
DAILIES TOTAL1 is a daily disposable lens with Water Gradient Technology. It has a high-moisture surface, which can make it a strong option to ask about if your eyes feel dry during the day.
This lens can also work well for people who want a fresh pair every morning. Since it is discarded after one use, you don't need overnight cleaning solution, a storage case, or a reusable-lens care routine. DAILIES TOTAL1 may be a good fit if you like the convenience of daily disposables but still want a premium moisture-focused lens. Ask your eye doctor whether the material, power range, and fit match your prescription.
ACUVUE OASYS 1-Day
ACUVUE OASYS 1-Day is a daily disposable lens with HydraLuxe Technology. This technology is made to work with the natural tear film, which can be useful for people whose eyes feel tired or dry during demanding days.
ACUVUE OASYS 1-Day is a daily disposable lens, so you get a fresh lens each time you wear contacts. That can be helpful if you dislike cleaning reusable lenses or notice more discomfort when deposits build up over time.
This product can be worth discussing if you want a daily lens from the ACUVUE OASYS family and your routine includes long workdays, school days, travel, or screen use. Your eye doctor should still confirm the exact lens name, power, base curve, diameter, and fit before you switch.
Bausch + Lomb INFUSE
Bausch + Lomb INFUSE is a daily disposable lens with ProBalance Technology. It is made with a next-generation silicone hydrogel material and focuses on comfort, hydration, and clear vision throughout the day.
This lens can be a good product to ask about if your eyes feel dry in air-conditioned rooms, office settings, or screen-heavy routines. Since it is replaced after one use, it also removes the need for cleaning solution and overnight storage.
Bausch + Lomb INFUSE may be a practical option for wearers who want a daily lens with comfort-focused features, but it isn't interchangeable with other daily lenses. Your eye doctor should check whether it fits your prescription and eye shape.
Biofinity Energys
Biofinity Energys is a monthly contact lens made for people who spend a lot of time on digital devices. It uses DigitalBoost Technology, which is designed to help reduce eye tiredness linked to digital device use.
It also uses Aquaform Technology, which helps the lens retain water and support oxygen flow. This combination can make Biofinity Energys worth asking about if your eyes feel tired or dry after long hours on a laptop, tablet, phone, or gaming screen.
Biofinity Energys is a monthly lens, so it needs proper cleaning, storage, and replacement. It may be a better fit for wearers who want a reusable lens and can keep up with the care routine.
Bausch + Lomb ULTRA
Bausch + Lomb ULTRA is a monthly contact lens with MoistureSeal Technology. This technology helps the lens retain moisture, which can be helpful during long-wearing days.
This product can be worth discussing if your contacts feel comfortable in the morning but start to feel dry later in the day. It may also fit routines that include long hours at work, school, or digital device use. Bausch + Lomb ULTRA is a reusable lens, so it needs to clean and store the lenses properly after each wear. Include solution, lens case care, and replacement timing when comparing it against daily disposable options.
ACUVUE OASYS MAX 1-Day
ACUVUE OASYS MAX 1-Day is a daily disposable lens with TearStable Technology and an OptiBlue Light Filter. TearStable Technology focuses on tear-film stability, while the OptiBlue Light Filter reduces some blue-violet light. This product can be worth comparing if you want a daily lens with comfort-focused moisture features and blue-violet light filtering. It may also appeal to people who spend long hours around digital screens, bright indoor lighting, or visually demanding tasks.
Blue-violet filtering does not replace good screen habits, proper blinking, lighting adjustments, or a lens fit that works for your eyes. Your eye doctor can help you decide whether this lens fits your prescription and comfort needs. These products are not interchangeable, even when they correct the same vision problem. Your eye doctor should confirm the right lens name, power, base curve, diameter, material, and fit before you switch.
Colored Contacts for a New Look
Colored contacts can enhance your natural eye color or create a completely different look while still correcting vision, depending on the product and prescription. Some shades create a soft, natural effect, while others add a brighter color shift or a more dramatic cosmetic finish for photos, events, costumes, or everyday styling.
The best colored contacts depend on your natural eye color, the lens tint, opacity, pattern, and edge design. Dark brown eyes usually need more pigment for the color to show clearly, while lighter eyes can show subtle color changes more easily. A blended pattern can look softer, while a stronger limbal ring or opaque design can make the color change more noticeable.
Colored contacts still need a valid prescription, even if they don't correct vision. Check the product name, color, power if needed, base curve, diameter, and replacement schedule before ordering. If you have astigmatism, ask your eye doctor whether a toric colored contact lens option fits your prescription.
Contacts for Sports, Travel, and Busy Schedules
Contact lenses can be helpful for sports, travel, workouts, and active days because they don't fog, slide down, or block side vision the way glasses can. Daily disposables can work especially well for travel or occasional wear because you don't need to pack a solution or a lens case.
If you play contact sports, work outdoors, or spend time in dusty or windy settings, ask your eye doctor which lens type fits your activity level. Contacts don't replace protective eyewear when your sport or job calls for eye protection.
Brand Families Worth Comparing
Several contact lens brands are popular because they cover different vision needs and wearing schedules. ACUVUE, DAILIES, PRECISION1, Biofinity, MyDay, Clariti, Biotrue, AIR OPTIX, TOTAL30, ULTRA, Proclear, and FreshLook are examples of brand families shoppers compare online.
Brand name alone isn't enough. A single brand family can include daily, monthly, toric, multifocal, and color options. Match the exact product name from your prescription before comparing price or box size.
Box Size, Rebates, and Real Cost
A lower box price does not always mean a lower total cost. Box size, supply length, rebate eligibility, shipping, and replacement schedule can change the real price.
For daily lenses, check whether the box contains 30 or 90 lenses. For monthly lenses, check how long each box lasts for each eye. If a rebate is available, review the purchase dates, box count, claim deadline, and submission rules before ordering.
How to Match Your Prescription Before Checkout
Before checkout, compare your prescription against the product page line by line. Contact lenses sit directly on your eyes, so the product name, prescription values, and fit details should match what your eye doctor approved.
- Check the exact product name on your prescription.
- Match the power for your right and left eye.
- Confirm the base curve, usually shown as BC.
- Confirm the diameter, usually shown as DIA.
- If you wear toric lenses, match the cylinder and axis values.
- If you wear multifocal lenses, match the ADD value.
- Check that your prescription is still current.
- During checkout at Lens.com, upload your prescription or enter your eye doctor's information for verification.
A similar product name isn't enough. A regular lens, toric lens, multifocal lens, or colored version from the same brand family can fit differently, so the order should match the contact lens your doctor approved.

Excellent service!
This product has nothing to dislike about. It is a good quality of contact lenses and will not stop using this brand. My vision is satisfactory using Air Optix brand. Please do not stop carrying them. The sales representative was also very knowledgeable, professional, articulate and kind. My order came in before Thanksgiving and I appreciate it. She expedited sending my order so I will be happy, satisfied with my new lenses. Thank you kindly, for the excellent service !

Several boxes of contacts I ordered were lost in the mail and they so were so kind about resending me my order fast and without any extra fees. The quality of these contacts (Biofinity) is unmatched as well. I would highly recommend both Lens.com and Biofinity to anyone.

First time buyer
Great service, great price and very easy to order and pay. Will be back for my next order.
I have been using B+L SofLens Toric Astigmatism.
After I had been happily using them for decades, I could not reorder my contact lenses since Bausch+Lomb officially discontinued many SofLens® Toric lenses in July  2023.
As my Rx had not changed, my optometrist recommended another manufacturer, which I tried using for months, and was very disappointed.
Then on the Lens.com website, I ordered B+L ULTRA for Astigmatism Contact Lenses, and they seem just the same to me as the discontinued B+L SofLens® Toric contact lens. Now I couldn't be happier!
Great contact lens
These lens fit well and stay comfortable no matter my activity. Very good value for keeping my eyes seeing as well as possible.
