Why Shop Lens.com

Getting a good deal on contacts should not mean guessing your way through the order. Lens.com helps you save while still keeping prescription accuracy, ordering support, and eye health in the process.

Contact Lens Discounts And Rebates

Contact lenses can get expensive, especially if you wear them every day. Lens.com helps bring that cost down with discounts of up to 70% on popular contacts.

You may also find mail-in rebates and product offers on select lenses. Rebates can change based on the product, box count, manufacturer offer, and order details, so it's worth checking the product page before you buy.

Before placing your order, review:

  • Product price, rebate details, shipping, taxes, fees, and final total.
  • The number of boxes needed for both eyes and how long that supply should last.

That full-order view makes it easier to compare Lens.com with another online retailer, an optical store, or your eye doctor's office.

Prescription Verification With Your Eye Doctor

You don't need to have a paper prescription in hand to order from Lens.com. You can enter your eye doctor's name and phone number, and Lens.com can contact them directly to verify your prescription. If you already have a copy, you can upload, email, or fax it.

This matters because contact lenses are medical devices. Your contact lens prescription may include the lens name, power, base curve, diameter, expiration date, and extra values for astigmatism or multifocal correction.

Prescription verification helps make sure your order matches what your eye doctor prescribed. It also helps prevent ordering the wrong lens, choosing the wrong size, or switching to a different lens without your doctor's approval.

AutoRefill For Future Orders

If you wear contacts regularly, AutoRefill can help you avoid last-minute reorders. You can sign up during checkout, choose your delivery schedule, and receive future shipments based on the timing you set.

AutoRefill also gives you 5% off future orders. You'll receive an email before your AutoRefill order ships, and you can update your shipping address, payment method, delivery date, or quantity when needed.

You stay in control of the subscription. You can snooze, change, or cancel AutoRefill through your account if your prescription changes, your supply lasts longer than expected, or you need to adjust your next delivery.

Online Vision Exam

If your prescription is expired, Lens.com offers an online vision exam option for eligible customers. It can be a convenient way to renew a prescription from home when you meet the service requirements.

An online vision exam can help with prescription renewal, but it does not replace every type of in-office eye health exam. If you have eye pain, redness, sudden vision changes, a history of eye disease, or concerns about contact lens fit, schedule an appointment with an eye care professional.

Lens.com gives you several ways to save on contacts without skipping the prescription process. You can compare prices, use rebates when available, verify your prescription, set up AutoRefill, and use an online exam option when it fits your situation.

Are Contacts More Expensive in Stores or Online?

Sometimes, contacts are more expensive in stores. Optical shops and eye doctor's offices may have higher prices because they handle exams, fittings, staff time, inventory, and in-person service. That does not mean buying in-store is bad. It just means the price may be higher than what you see online.

Online retailers can often offer lower prices because the buying process is built around reorders. If you already have a valid contact lens prescription and know the exact lenses you wear, buying online can be a smart way to save.

That said, the cheapest-looking box price is not the whole story. Compare the full order total, including shipping, taxes, fees, rebates, and any insurance reimbursement. A deal is only useful if the final cost makes sense and the retailer still verifies your prescription correctly.

Lens.com is a strong option if you want online prices, major contact lens names, prescription verification, rebates on select products, and support after you order.

Are Online Discounts for Contacts Legit?

Yes, online contact lens discounts can be legit when they come from a legal retailer that requires a valid prescription and clearly shows the order details before you buy.

The safest way to judge an online discount is to look past the first price you see. Check the product page, rebate details, quantity, shipping, taxes, fees, and final cart total. If there is a rebate, read how it works before counting it as money saved.

A real deal should be easy to understand. You should know:

  • What you are buying, what discount applies, and what your final order total looks like.
  • Whether a rebate requires a mail-in form, online submission, specific box count, or deadline.

Be careful with websites that sell contacts without asking for your prescription or eye doctor's information. That is not a good deal. Contact lenses require a valid prescription, even when they are cosmetic or colored contacts.

How to Use Insurance to Buy Contacts at Lens.com

Lens.com supports vision insurance through out-of-network reimbursement. That means your insurance will not apply directly at checkout. Instead, you pay for your contacts first, then submit a claim to your vision plan.

Here is how it works:

  1. Order your contacts from Lens.com.
  2. Download or request an itemized, insurance-friendly invoice.
  3. Fill out your vision plan's out-of-network claim form.
  4. Submit the claim form, invoice, and proof of payment if your plan asks for it.
  5. Wait for your carrier to review the claim and decide the reimbursement amount.

Your reimbursement depends on your plan. Some plans cover contact lenses under a materials benefit, while others may have limits, frequency rules, or no out-of-network reimbursement at all.

Before ordering, check your plan's contact lens allowance, claim deadline, required documents, and out-of-network rules. For more details, check out the Lens.com vision insurance guide.

ULTRA for Astigmatism

I have been using B+L SofLens Toric Astigmatism.

After I had been happily using them for decades, I could not reorder my contact lenses since Bausch+Lomb officially discontinued many SofLens® Toric lenses in July  2023.
As my Rx had not changed, my optometrist recommended another manufacturer, which I tried using for months, and was very disappointed.
Then on the Lens.com website, I ordered B+L ULTRA for Astigmatism Contact Lenses, and they seem just the same to me as the discontinued B+L SofLens® Toric contact lens. Now I couldn't be happier!
