Causes of Quadrantanopia

  • Stroke - A blockage or rupture of blood vessels in the visual cortex.
  • Tumor - A growth pressing on the optic radiations in the temporal or parietal lobes.

Types of Quadrantanopia

The type is defined by the location of the lost visual field:

  • Homonymous Quadrantanopia - The vision loss affects the same quadrant in both eyes (e.g., upper left in both).
