What Is Oscillopsia?
Oscillopsia is the sensation that the visual world is moving, bouncing, or jittering when it should appear still. People often describe that objects seem to jump with each step or that lines will not stay steady. The problem usually arises when eye movements or vestibular signals are not matched properly, so images do not remain stable on the retina. It can occur with certain types of nystagmus, vestibular loss, or other ocular motor disorders. Severity ranges from mild annoyance to serious disability during walking or reading.
