What Is Ocular Rosacea?
Ocular rosacea is eye involvement that occurs in people with cutaneous rosacea affecting the face, especially the cheeks, nose, and eyelids. It often presents with chronic lid margin inflammation, dry eye symptoms, and recurrent redness or irritation. Meibomian gland dysfunction is common and disrupts the tear film. In more severe cases, corneal involvement such as peripheral infiltrates or ulcers can appear. The condition tends to wax and wane over time, often flaring with triggers that also aggravate facial rosacea.
