What Is Micropsia?
Micropsia is a visual symptom in which objects appear smaller than their actual size. It can affect one eye or both and can involve part or all of the visual field. Micropsia is often linked to macular disease, retinal swelling, or traction that changes photoreceptor spacing. It can also arise from neurologic conditions or from optical factors such as high minus lenses. Careful evaluation is needed to find the underlying cause.
