What is Juvenile Nasopharyngeal Angiofibroma?
A juvenile nasopharyngeal angiofibroma is a rare, non-cancerous (benign) tumor that forms in the back of the nasal cavity and upper throat. The tumor is composed of fibrous tissue and numerous, large blood vessels. The name itself reflects its makeup: "angio" (vessels) and "fibroma" (fibrous tumor). Although it is benign, its aggressive, destructive growth pattern requires specialized management similar to cancer.
