What Is Iris Heterotopia (Corectopia)?
Iris heterotopia, or corectopia, is a displacement of the pupil away from its central position. The pupil may shift upward, downward, or to one side. People often notice cosmetic asymmetry or altered light entry. Vision may remain normal unless other eye structures are affected. Exams identify whether the shift is congenital or acquired.
