What Are Fuchs Spots?
Fuchs spots are small dark or pigmented lesions that appear in people with high myopia due to changes in the central retina. They develop when stretching of the eye leads to tiny areas of scarring beneath the macula. These spots can affect central detail and sometimes cause distortion. They are often detected during routine retinal exams in highly myopic patients. Monitoring helps track any progression.
