What Is Farsightedness?
Farsightedness, also known as hyperopia, is a common vision condition in which distant objects appear clear, but nearby objects appear blurry. It occurs when the eye is too short or the cornea has insufficient curvature, causing light to focus behind the retina instead of directly on it. Mild farsightedness may go unnoticed in children but can worsen with age. The condition can affect reading, close-up work, and overall eye comfort.
