What Is a Lacrimal Sac?
The lacrimal sac is a small reservoir at the inner corner of the eye that collects tears from the canaliculi. It lies in a groove beside the nose and connects downward to the nasolacrimal duct. With each blink, a gentle pressure change draws fluid into and out of the sac. This design moves tears efficiently toward the nasal cavity.
