What Is Triangular Fibrocartilage Complex Repair?
Triangular fibrocartilage complex repair is wrist surgery that reattaches torn stabilizing tissue on the ulnar side of the wrist. The triangular fibrocartilage complex, or TFCC, helps stabilize the distal radioulnar joint and supports load transfer across the wrist. Repair is most commonly used for peripheral or foveal tears that have healing potential and cause persistent pain or distal radioulnar joint instability. Central degenerative tears are more commonly treated with debridement rather than direct repair.
