What Is Senile Sclerosis (Lens)?
Senile sclerosis of the lens is an age-related hardening and yellowing of the central lens nucleus, often called nuclear sclerosis. It is part of normal lens aging, but it can progress into a nuclear cataract when the lens becomes cloudy enough to reduce vision. Early changes often affect contrast and night driving before daytime vision drops. Over time, the lens can scatter light and change how the eye focuses.
