What Is PCL Reconstruction?
PCL reconstruction is knee surgery used to replace a severely damaged posterior cruciate ligament with a tendon graft. The posterior cruciate ligament helps prevent the tibia from moving too far backward relative to the femur. Reconstruction restores this restraint when the native ligament cannot provide adequate stability. The procedure is commonly performed arthroscopically with additional small incisions for tunnel creation and graft passage.
