What Is Lens Refraction?
Lens refraction is the bending of light as it passes through a lens because the lens material has a different refractive index than air. This bending changes the direction of light rays so they converge or diverge, creating a focused image. In eye care, refraction also refers to the exam that determines what lens powers you need to see clearly. Both meanings relate to how light is redirected to achieve sharp vision.
