How Does Alunbrig Target ALK-Positive Cancer?

Brigatinib is a tyrosine kinase inhibitor with activity against ALK and several other kinases. It inhibits ALK autophosphorylation and downstream signaling proteins involved in cancer-cell growth and survival. In ALK-positive tumor models, brigatinib reduced growth of cells carrying susceptible ALK alterations and showed activity against selected ALK resistance mutations.

Who Receives Alunbrig for Lung Cancer?

Alunbrig is approved for adults with metastatic non-small cell lung cancer whose tumors are positive for anaplastic lymphoma kinase. An FDA-approved test is used to identify eligible tumors. The indication covers metastatic disease and does not extend to every form of non-small cell lung cancer.
