Disposable soft lenses are so popular in the contact lens market that it’s easy to forget that there are other options out there. The truth is that not so very long ago, disposable soft lenses were not the norm. While this type of lens has come to dominate the market in recent years, there are people who have not lost sight of all of the advantages that hard lenses have to offer. Besides, hard contact lenses are not what they used to be; there have been some major changes made for the better. SA 18 contact lenses are a traditional hard lens with a lot of modern-day benefits.
One thing that hard contact lenses have always had going for them is durability. Soft lenses typically have a high water content. While the added moisture can be helpful to those who suffer from dry eyes, it also makes the lenses fragile and challenging to handle. SA 18, also known as Phoenix 18 contact lenses, are made from a substance known as Kolfocon B. The lenses are 100 percent polymer, which means they’re strong and long lasting. Besides durability, another advantage to having a lens with no water content is the fact that these lenses stay clean, as high moisture content leaves lenses open to the build-up of bacteria. This soft lens issue can cause eye irritation and, even worse, infection. There’s no need to worry about eye dryness, though, because Phoenix 18 contact lenses are designed to seal moisture in, keeping eyes comfortable throughout the day.
A big difference between the original hard contacts and today’s lenses is that modern day hard contacts are highly breathable. RGP contact lenses (or rigid gas permeable) are manufactured to allow high levels of oxygen to pass through the lens. This means that eyes get the oxygen they need and stay healthy and bright. RGP contact lenses are made to order. Due to the fact that these lenses are created according to specific vision needs, SA 18 contact lenses provide sharp, stable vision. They’re also made to last. These durable lenses can be worn daily for up to a year before replacing. Of course, Phoenix contacts need to be removed, cleaned, sanitized, and stored at the end of each day to keep eyes healthy and lenses in good shape.

SA 18 (Phoenix 18) Reviews
The SA 18 saves me money!
I was tired of always having to buy contact lenses and spend so much money on them so I wanted to make a switch to a rigid gas permeable contact lens. I had heard mixed reviews of them from people but my eyes are pretty resilient. I tried out a few to no avail when finally I tried the SA 18 on. It was much more comfortable than the other ones. I have been wearing them now for 3 years and the shortest one has lasted me has been 13 months. I am very glad I switched.
The SA 18 contact lenses are my favorite RGPs
The SA 18 contact lenses are my favorite RGPs. I have been wearing rgp's for about 12 years and I made the switch to these 2 years ago. They always give me the best sight and they are the most comfortable. I don't see myself switching again anytime soon, especially since this site is so much cheaper than buying from my optometrist.
